Negative Form of Simple Past

1. Negative form of past simple with regular and irregular verbs

Form: Subject + didn't (did not) + verb 1 (base form) + ...

e.g. 1/ She drank juice last night. → She didn't drink juice last night.
       2/ They spoke Khmer yesterday.  → They didn't speak Khmer yesterday.

2. Negative form of past simple with be (was/were)

Form: Subject + wasn't/weren't (was not/were not) + ...

e.g. 1/ I was a teacher two years ago. → I wasn't a teacher two years ago.
       2/ We were tired last weekend. → We weren't tired last weekend.

More examples:
1. It was a cat. → It wasn't a cat.
2. It ate a mouse last night. → It didn't eat a mouse last night.
